Rock’n Call of Duty Black Ops, Xbox 360 and Kinetic

One of the most highly anticipated Xbox games is Call of Duty Black Ops. Like the other Xbox games from the same family, you will be able to play online with your friends and complete missions. Some early Xbox 360 reviews for this game are excited for this release. Another exciting new feature for Xbox is Kinetic. Much like the Play Station 3 Move and and Nintendo Wii, the Kinetic allows Xbox users to be active in games.

The Xbox 360 reviews for this game will likely find the same issue that users had with the unpredictable sensors for Wii consoles. However, the fact that you do not have to buy a new console, and can use Kinetic with your Xbox 360 that you already own, is a helpful selling factor. It will save users money and will ensure that most of the 360 devotees will stick with the console.

Nintendo profits down amid dreary DS sales

We’ve obviously gone through the rabbit hole: Motorola’s income reaches positive figures while Nintendo turn around and report slashed profits.  After a healthy last quarter, the Japanese gaming giant has announced a drop in interim net profits from 144.83 billion yen this time last year to just 69.49 billion yen this past six months, with a 43-percent drop in Wii sales.

In fact the company only sold 5.75m Wii consoles, while handheld console sales also fell by 15-percent despite the launch of the DSi in Europe and the US.  Nintendo have tweaked their financial year-end predictions to more conservative figures, suggesting 1.5 trillion yen sales and an overall net profit of 230 billion yen come March 2010.

Rockband Beatles

beatles-rock-bandRockband, the popular alternative to the Guitar Hero series which was first to incorporate a microphone and drums along with just the standard guitar, is now releasing a new version themed around the Beatles. Many fans of Rockband and Rockband 2 are looking forward to the new content provided by this sequel, but there is a very large possibility that this game will bring a whole new age group to the genre, as older generation’s are attracted by the Beatle’s title. The game’s intuitive control system, as well as the many levels of difficulty will also make the transition for those who are not typically gamers to jump right in and enjoy classics such as Yellow Submarine.
