Rumors: iPhone 4G to be unveiled in Late May

It’s been less than one year since the iPhone 3GS has come out, and Apple fans are already looking foward the next iPhone, which some speculate may be called the iPhone 4G.  Rumors suggest that the new iPhone 4G will become available as early as May, and may have a new, sleek design,  a faster processor,  a 5-megapixel camera, an organic light emitting diode (OLED) screen which requires no backlight and provides a much more crisp display.  These features would rival those on Google’s Nexus One.  There’s even more rumors that say a removable battery and video chat support will be included in the iPhone.  An army of Androids are marching into the smartphone market. Apple buys up 10′s of millions of LED Flash Components

iPhone 4G Mock-up with LED Flash

Apple in recent months has made their move to buy up significant quantities of LED camera flash components making the next generation iPhone (4G) handsets produce a more superior image and video captures in low-light situations.

Sources familiar with Apple’s claim say the electronics maker is seeking allotments of LED camera flash components in the tens of millions for delivery during the 2010 calendar year, meaning future iPhones, and possibly the iPod touch, will most likely be recipients of those parts, due to their sales volume.  Those same sources say that Philips’ Lumileds Lighting sector is believed to be the front-runner for Apple’s business and may have already secured the design win.

This is all good news, of course, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.  It took two years for Apple to upgrade the iPhone camera, and even now with the 3GS 3.2 megaxpixels and video recording, the camera is still a huge waste of time.
